Is FastLaw a cloud-based application?

Yes, FastLaw is a cloud-based application. A cloud-based application can be reached with the help of any Internet-connected device.
Main benefits:

  • enhanced data security;
  • automatic software updates save your time.

Is there a difference between FREE Trial and product version of FastLaw?

There is no difference in functionality between FREE Trial and product versions.

Where is my data stored?

FastLaw provides one data region where all the data is stored - Europe-DE (Frankfurt, Germany). We do not offer data storage in other regions at the moment. If you require another data storage region, please contact us about this topic via e-mail support@fastlaw.eu.

Can I import data to FastLaw from my previous software?

If you are able export data from your previous system in CSV (UFT-8) format or copy data from any other format to CSV (UFT-8), FastLaw offers to import 3 sections of the information at the moment - clients, cases, contacts.

For successful import:

  • some data should be pre-filled in FastLaw software
  • for each of 3 sections separate import template file (*.csv) should be dowloaded from FastLaw
  • data that you want to import into FastLaw, should be filled in an import template file according to sample
  • finalised import file should be uploaded into FastLaw

We have prepared detailed step-by-step guidelines for the import process as well as our HelpDesk is there for you to assist in every data importing step.

How does the FREE 30-day trial work in FastLaw?

FastLaw offers to choose between two data sets during the FREE 30-day trial period. If necessary, you will be able to change the dataset during the entire FREE trial period. You can make this change an unlimited number of times during that period.

Please note, that the dataset change will delete all data what was inserted in the System and offer you our default (with or without DEMO data) template dataset again.

We suggest that you do final costumisations of the system according to your firm's needs, only on NO demo data dataset after you have tested the system and you have made the decision to continue to use it. If you will do the costumisation of the system in DEMO data version, you will have to redo all the settings in clear version or you will have to delete all DEMO data from the system, what will be a very timeconsuming process.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail support@fastlaw.eu or call us (English/Russian/Latvian) on +371 26 370 348.

FREE Trial with no DEMO data - what does that mean?

After such a choice, a system with data required to start real production use - basic settings & classifiers - will be created. If you choose this option, you are able to start costumisation work on a system (system settings, classifiers etc) and start real life usage of the system.

We recomend this option, if you are already familiar with FastLaw functionality and want to start real system usage as soon as possible.

The same as in version with DEMO data, you can still explore the system, see it's functionality and play around.

You will be able to swith to DEMO data version and back during your FREE trial period.

FREE Trial with DEMO data - what does that mean?

We will create a full dataset including Clients, Cases, Users, Invoices and other entries for you to see how system would look like in real working environment. This dataset is intended to get acquinted with system, see it's functionality and play around.

You will be able to swith to clear version of system and again to DEMO data version during your FREE trial period.

After system is explored we suggest you to switch to version with no DEMO data for final costumisation and production use.

Are there any differences in the list of features available depending on which plan is chosen?

The list of functions is the same for all subscription plans.

How the Daily subscription plan is working at FastLaw?

Daily subscription plan is giving a great option to optimise costs and spend less time with organising the licences for Users. If you have cooperation with lawyers on project bases, this could be a good solution as only days when FastLaw software is used are calculated and charged in amount of EUR 1.49 per day + VAT (can differ from country to country). Let us see, what does it mean "days when system is used":

  • if User logs into system and makes any activity (add, edit, open, close any record or view notification or task)
  • if other person enters time/disbursement on behalf of the User - system will calculate it as used day. If both Users are on daily subscription plan, then for both Users the day will be counted
  • if two time cards/disbursements are added, but date is is different for each time card or disbursement - system will calculate it as two days or even three days, if none of the added records will have the date when activity is done.

Days will be counted at the end of payment period and invoice issued.

Can I cancel any time?

With 2 of our plans you are able to cancel your subscription at any time you need or want to do that. If you subscribe to Best Seller subscription plan, then minimum commitment is 12 month.

Please note, that there are no refunds for the current term possible. After cancellation of the subscription, you will be able to use it until the payment period ends and afterward access to the system will be closed and data deleted.

How the monthly fee for FastLaw usage will be calculated?

There are 2 options how the calculation of subscription fee invoice will take place. It depends on subscription plan your firm has chosen.

1) All subscriptions are Monthly subscriptions, then payment is calculated for the next period (month). After 30 days FREE trial period, subscription fee will be automatically taken from submitted payment card for the next period (month).

For example, you are 3 Users of the system in the firm. You have started to use FastLaw on 14 March. FREE trial period will end on April 13. On April 14 you will receive an invoice for the next period April 14 - May 13. On April 15 payment in amount of 3 x EUR 20.00 = EUR 60.00 + VAT will be automatically charched from your payment card.

2) All subscriptions are Daily subscriptions, then payment is calculated for the previous period (month). After 30 days FREE trial period, system will start to collect active days of Users for the next period and automatic payment of total amount calculated will be charged at the end of that period.

For example, you have started to use FastLaw on March 14. FREE trial period will end on April 13. April 14 will be the first day of next period when the system will start to count active used days. May 13 will be last day of period. On May 14 calculation for the period April 14 - May 13 will be done. On May 15 payment in amount of days used x EUR 1.49 + VAT will be automatically charched from your payment card.

3) If you have both licences in you firm- Monthly and Daily, then both calculation options will be combined in one invoice

If we take a sample of previous dates, then one invoice will include future and past period. On April 14 there will be the first invoice from FastLaw for monthly licences for next period April 14 - May 13. Next inovice will be on May 14 there will be a Monthly licences calculation for next period May 14 - June 13 AND Daily licences for previous period April 14 - May 13.
